For First Time, Flu Spreads From Birds

Oh God, here it is! Our worst nightmare has come true. Get the duct tape!

Three cats have tested positive for the deadly strain of bird flu in Austria's first reported case of the disease spreading to an animal other than a bird, state authorities said Monday.

Cats? Oh...okay. False alarm everybody, you can put the duct tape back in the bedroom. It's just infecting cats. Yeah, cats.

The sick cats were among 170 living at an animal shelter where the disease was detected in chickens last month, authorities said.

The Bird Flu has officially been upgraded from a Level Tweety Flu to a Level Sylvester.

All the cats from the affected shelter have been moved to a location where they will remain under observation. The shelter has been closed, Health Minister Maria Rauch-Kallat told reporters in Vienna.
We're watching you Fluffy, your health starts going south and bam...medicine.

German authorities last month confirmed that a cat on the Baltic Sea island of Ruegen had succumbed to the deadly virus, which it is believed to have caught by eating an infected bird.

Let that be a warning to all of you pigeon eaters in New York. See what happens? See?

So, according to this new developments, dogs are in deep shit now. Of course us humans have other things to worry about. Let me know when people start getting sick, until then, I'll save a bundle on duct tape.
