Hamas is offered Russia's friendship
That's cute...Russia's made a new friend. Careful though Russia, you don't want to get mixed up with the wrong crowd.
You ever get the feeling that Russia is just doing things to spite western society? It's almost like they're still upset that the USSR collapsed and they're no longer the super-duper country they used to be. Russia...you want to talk about it?
Russian President Vladimir Putin ended a two-day visit to Spain on Thursday by inviting Hamas leaders to Moscow for Middle East peace talks, a move slammed by Israel and met by the US with cautious reserve.
Doesn't Russia get attacked by Islamic fundalmentalists too? I mean, I'm not trying to lump all Islamic fanatics into one big group cause you know Palestinian suicide bombers are a lot different from an Afghani suicide bomber...wait...no they're not. You think befriending Hamas will end the Chechen militants operations and they're going to leave you alone? I don't think so.
The Russian foreign ministry sought to clarify Putin's plans by explaining late Thursday that Moscow intends to use contact with the Hamas leaders to urge them to "responsible decisions" and peace with Israel.
Well good luck cause they haven't listen to anybody else. I'm trying to be hopeful and think, hey, maybe Hamas, if they do seek true peace and co-existence with Israel, can get it done. We should give it a chance. Then there's a bombing and my hope goes the way of the Dodo.
