Rice says US may make mistakes in war on terror

This sounds like a lead-in to the admittance of something I'm not going to want to hear.

Condoleezza Rice, secretary of state, on Tuesday defended US security policy but also made a rare concession of US fallibility by admitting the world’s only superpower could err in its anti-terror policies. “Any policy will sometimes result in errors, and when it happens, we will do everything we can to rectify it,” Ms Rice said in Berlin.

We did something stupid didn't we? Or maybe this is a pre-emptive strike at something sure to be dug up by reporters to make America look like an evil empire bent on controlling the entire world. Either way, yes errors happen. But hooking an innocent man's testicles to a car battery isn't easily rectified with an apology and a ride home. We have to be quite careful we get the bad guys and not the on-th-fence bad guys. America isn't going to win any hearts in the Middle East anytime soon but we don't have to give them reason after reason to want to hurt us.

You know, at some point, I'd like to see the sights in the Middle East. And I liked to do so without being beheaded because the US tortured someones uncle Mohammed.
