Ex-Teacher Takes Hostages at French School

Nothing like setting a good example for the students. At least they're learning something at school today and that is how to duck and cover and that you should never, ever trust anyone at all...ever.

A former teacher armed with a handgun and reportedly suffering from depression took some 20 people hostage, 18 of them students, holding them in a high school classroom, French police and a school employee said.

This is an interesting take on education. Getting detention just took on a whole new meaning in France.

A school employee said he had promised not to harm the students.

That's awfully thoughtful of you. Thanks for not hurting the children as you scare the living shit out of them.

Bernadette Mercier, a school receptionist said the 33-year-old former teacher had found no work and was very depressed.

Kids, there are better ways to deal with being upset. Don't do what your teachers do. Taking hostages is no way to overcome depression. Try watching a funny movie, or maybe go out for some fresh air at the local park. Waving a gun around will just cause more depression for you down the line when you're rooming with the guy who just smuggled a dress into the cell for you to wear.
