Coalition forces plan fresh offensive in Afghanistan

No one tell the Taliban...it's a secret.

United States-led coalition forces plan a major offensive in southern Afghanistan aimed at weeding out fighters of the former ruling Taliban from their safe havens, coalition force officials said Wednesday.

And by announcing it we assure ourselves that the Taliban will slip back behind the Pakistani border and our offensive will be easier that way. We, of course, should accomplish nothing.

While officials would not reveal when the operation would be launched citing reasons of security, unconfirmed reports said it could be as early as Thursday.

At 3 pm exactly.

The offensive, codenamed Operation Mountain Thrust, was announced amid reports of intensified fighting between the forces and Taliban militia in which two coalition soldiers and 14 Taliban fighters died Tuesday.

Ready or not, here we come. Hey...where'd they go?
