US Military: Zarqawi Died of Blast Injuries

Weird. I thought maybe he had a bad heart that gave out when the world surrounding him was blown into tiny pieces of shrapnel from two 500 pound bombs that were dropped on his head.

U.S. military doctors now say militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi lived for nearly an hour after his hideout was torn apart by two precision-guided 500 pound bombs. The latest details on the terrorist leader's death were released with the results of an autopsy that was performed on him.

I hope he spent that hour he had left reflecting on why he was a bad, bad man that deserved to have his body blown through the air like a wayward kite.

"The injuries to his lungs were not survivable. That's what killed him," Col. Steve Jones, the command surgeon for U.S. forces in Iraq said. Jones said there was no evidence of beatings or gunshot wounds.

Too bad.
