Kuwait mourns emir as new ailing ruler takes over

Replacing a dead leader with a dying leader is like switching batteries in two remotes. Eventually, you're going to need to buy new batteries.

Kuwaitis mourned the death of their ruler on Monday amid indications that the new ailing emir will maintain key foreign and energy policies.
U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney was due to arrive in the major oil producer on Tuesday to offer condolences for Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, who died and was buried on Sunday at the age of 78 after a long illness.

Died AND buried on Sunday. Don't waste any time Kuwait. What if he was just napping? Oh well. So how old is the new leader?

The crown prince, Sheik Saad Al Abdullah Al Sabah -- in his mid-70s and ailing himself -- assumed the throne.

We're going to have deja vu in the near future.
