Democrats fail to pin Alito down in final questioning

Being nominated by the President to become a supreme court justice is like someone trading job security for a few days of physical and mental torture. The two parties in our government remind me of rival high schools.

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee made their last efforts Thursday to pin down Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito on abortion, presidential power and even whether the Constitution bans immigrants such as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from the presidency.

Jeez, sounds like a mafia hearing. Could we please just get this over with. Everytime someone gets nominated its like throwing a T-Bone steak to a pack of wolves. We might as well build some sort of gaunlet with razor wire and deadly booby traps and have the nominee try to make it through the maze. If they succeed, then they've earned the right to impose their opinions on everyone in this country, if not, well, we can throw them to that pack of wolves I was just mentioning.

"The American people are going to be watching and listening ... and are going to make a judgment at the end of it about whether they think this person has been candid and committed and trustworthy to be promoted to the Supreme Court,'' Sen. Edward Kennedy said.

Honestly Teddy, the majority of the American public cares more about being able to afford the necessities day after day then when you people play court. Unless the nominee shows up to the hearing with a Nazi shirt, using racial slurs when referring to any group of people and has to leave the hearing early to catch the new Hope and Faith I'm fine with them. I more concerned with those people who want to kill me, remember them, the people on those other continents on earth.
