Fire Forces Miners to Seek Safety

If you've been on the fence about a career in the mining industry and January of 2006 hasn't convinced you to run screaming to an application at Burger King, you need a catscan.

A fire that broke out Sunday in a potash mine in Saskatchewan, forcing about 70 trapped miners to retreat to refuge rooms with oxygen and other supplies, was put out early today. Officials said they believed all the miners would be brought to the surface shortly.

Yeah, the Titanic was brought to the surface as well. Wouldn't call that a happy ending.
