Ariel Sharon Battles for His Life

I have remained quite neutral when it has come to headlines involving the Palestinian / Israeli shitfits. I've tried to see the conflict from three sets of eyes, one set, the Israeli's, being bombed and attacked by terrorists, the second set, a Palestinian's, who sees the Israeli's as occupiers and murderers of innocents, and the third set, my own, who doesn't give a shit anymore. It's been tough.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, sedated and on a respirator, clung to life on Thursday after a massive stroke that is likely to create a huge vacuum in Israeli politics and the Middle East peace process.

We all know what's coming right? Well...here it is.

"We say it frankly that God is great and is able to exact revenge on this butcher. ... We thank God for this gift he presented to us on this new year," Ahmed Jibril, leader of the Syrian-backed faction Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, a small radical group, told the Associated Press. He said Sharon's legacy would be one of huge damage inflicted on the Palestinian people.

In Lebanon, Islamic Jihad leader Anwar Abu Taha said, "We are not sorry about his health and let him go to hell whether he lives or dies... we in Islamic Jihad shall continue our holy war until we regain our rights."

So, let me get this straigt, a 77-year-old man suffers a stroke, which in fact is an extremely common ailment, and its a gift from Allah? Allah has sought revenge on Ariel Sharon? But wait a minute...let's take a look at something here shall we.

December 26th 2004 - Strongest earthquake in 40 years causes massive tsunamis that strike Sumatera, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India and killed 231,000 people.

February 22nd 2005 - earthquake in Iran, 612 people killed

March 28th 2005 - 1,000 killed in earthquake in Indonesia

July/August 2005 - after heaviest rains ever recorded in the area, over 1,000 killed in floods and landslides in India

October 8th 2005 - at least 73,320 people die in Pakistan after a massive earthquake. The earthquake shakes Indian Kashmir as well killing 1,244.

December 29th 2005 - landslides in Yemen kill 65 but they're still expected to rise.

If we want to compare acts of God...who does it seem he's really mad at? And Muslims aren't the only ones responsible for these claims. Almost all religions praise God for the good and ignore God for the bad. Surely Allah wasn't angered by recent kidnappings in Yemen to cause landslides right?

This selective divine destruction ain't flying.
