Israel prepares for Iran as nuke force
There are good things that happen in this world and there are bad things that happen in this world. Good and bad of course are determined by perception.
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has warned that Israel cannot accept Iran becoming a nuclear power and is making preparations to meet such an eventuality. Mr. Sharon stressed that Israel was not taking the lead in the international effort to head off Tehran's development of nuclear weapons but hinted at possible Israeli military action if there was no alternative.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? It depends on if you were waiting for WWIII or not. Israel has every right to be concerned about Iran's nuclear ambitions consider Iran's president recently called for "Israel to be wiped off the map". That's a subtle hint at malicious intent if I've ever heard one.
Iran, should, of course the key word is 'should' here, have the right to build nuclear reactors as any other country should. It's like a young child earning the right to borrow the family car when they get old enough to drive. Of course if said child has been running around all week claiming "I'm going to crash the car into a tree!" then you would of course second-guess handing over the car keys.
Either side of the spectrum your on for this debate one thing is certain. Iran having nukes is dangerous for Israel and western society. It's like handing a gun over to a kid who gets bullied at school everyday. You just can't trust them to exhibit what us adults like to call self-control.
This should mark the beginning of some serious problems rolling in from the horizon. Grab a chair, we'll get a front row seat.
